I have had the privilege of contacting several classmates in the last two years as a result of the SAHS Alumni webpage. I would like to thank Patricia Hein ('76) for her efforts. Who would have thought that so many of us would be reaquainted after so many years? Just reading the guestbook brought back so many memories and jarred loose many more.
Being a teenager was not the best part of my life. It was challenging as we all well know and being at Stuttgart American High School was memorable even though I did not graduate there.
My picture made it into the yearbooks only once each year. You won't find me lurking in the background anywhere. I didn't take part in any extracurricular school activities. You could have called me a loner, except for three or four close friends. On the other hand, I could walk down the hall and say hello to just about anyone.
So what made it all so special? I think that just being military brats had a lot to do with it. People who live next door to each other all their lives don't understand it. We were all living away from our homeland and our community only existed in that time and place. We would all like to go back there again, but it's not the same. In fact, most of it is not even there. So we relish the memories...via e-mail across the world...that we criss-crossed as military brats.
So if you've lost your yearbook or just can't find it, these pages are for you.
Please note that this is an ongoing project, it will take time to get the complete yearbook on the web. Bookmark this site and come back often. If you know that your picture is not in the class section, please let me know if there is a picture on any other page, so I can identify you. Thanks.
